Home integration of Resistance, Uncharted, and Warhawk
A new day, and more new news (pun, ain’t it great?) about our lovely little black box. Nope, not the PS2, that thing is slowly, painstaking slowly, dying. It’s the PS3, and today, thanks to the secret people working on Home, we get to find out about how the above three games will be integrated into Home. First,
Resistance: The first one, not the upcoming sequel. Resistance is said to provide Home visitors with an interesting room to explore, one that will let PlayStation 3 owners visit unseen areas of the game and tap into bonus content in the form of “intercepted” radio communications between European and U.S. forces.
These hidden transmissions will help to flesh out the Resistance story, giving players a better understanding of the game’s conflict. We hear that Home avatars will have free roam of unpopulated levels, not unlike a virtual Resistance museum.
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune: For Uncharted, there is plan for a mini-2D side scrolling action for the people that visit the home space of Uncharted. Well, ain’t that swell (pun again, heh, I kid).
Warhawk: Saving the best for last, Warhawk shows us why it’s called Wowhawk (sorry World of Warcraft, you’ve been dethrown. Read my review if you’re unsatisfied). According to the inside source, Warhawk will use a three-dimensional “sand table” replication of the level, Warhawk players are said to be able to lay out their strategies in a properly scaled space. They’ll even be able to place little army men avatars around the map to envision their formations, something we hope they can also do with teeny tiny Warhawk planes, tanks and Jeeps.
Well now. Ain’t that swell. Thanks Kotaku
