2.40: A limited Time Offer

⊆ July 5th, 2008 by Richard Stack | ˜ No Comments »

So how many of you were able to get 2.4 before Sony took it offline? Well hopefully you got it while you had the chance, I did and it’s pretty nice. I can’t believe it took this long to get a darn clock! In-game messaging is nice, but after the clock that’s about it. Still, hopefully developers will start using custom soundtracks for their games soon, because that’s a feature I’ve definitely been looking forward too. I’m sure if you look hard enough you could probably find a download for it. I got the update on my computer, and I’m sure others have too. Someone may have uploaded it somewhere. If you do find it though, don’t blame me if it bricks your PS3.

That’s right, it’s finally here! So why are you still reading this? Go go go!

PS3 firmware version 2.4 is finally coming out

⊆ June 30th, 2008 by Tony Pham | ˜ No Comments »

After all this time, the most crucial of in-game xmb access is finally going to be accomplished in 2 days and that is being able to read and send messages.  Everything else is gravy on top.

If only you guys know what’s coming for E3. You’d be so happy :)

Online gone wrong

⊆ June 27th, 2008 by Richard Stack | ˜ No Comments »

There’s two good examples right now of craptacular online service. I’m talking about Metal Gear Online, and Battlefield Bad Company.

Lets look at MGO first. Not only do you need a special Konami ID, you need another Game ID. And this is all in addition to the PSN you already have. Oh, and lets not forget paying for multiple characters. Good times man, good times!

Another good example, Battlefield Bad Company. It’s a pretty cool game, and it’s got an interesting squad dynamic. That, howerver, is also its achilies heel. You can only play with four of your friends at one time. Once your squad is full it’s game over. Err, well it’s actually time to play, but you know what I mean. Hopefully EA will allow multiple squads in a patch to let you rock the battlefield with all your buddies.

As for Metal Gear Online, well uh… It’s Metal Gear! If you love sneaking around, and doing all that awesomness, I’m sure the extra hassle will be worth it. Me though? Well I’m just waiting for Socom Confrontation to hit. Yes that will be sweet!

Sorry for the lack of updates

⊆ June 21st, 2008 by Tony Pham | ˜ No Comments »

Because I now have a new, and totally different job.  Because of that new position, I’m having a hard time getting to update this blog. I’m trying to figure out the options, but it’s definitely making it harder.  Thus, again, I go back to my call for more blog poster.

Let me know if you’re interested!
